Virtual Riverbed User Group: Acceleration for SaaS Services

Author: JPGuiang

Date of Event: Wednesday, May 27th
Time: 12:00 PM EST

As the Government of Canada’s IT Infrastructure and the delivery of application services evolves, the enterprise and mobile workforce utilizes an increasing percentage of their applications as Saas services. Currently users across the country and the world, connect to these SaaS services over a backhauled cloud connection. Individual users within the GC workforce are distributed across a vast and varied geography throughout Canada. Each consumer of a SaaS application is unique and is affected by a varied array of challenges as they reach out to these services across multiple network connections of bandwidth, latency and performance reliability.

As we have with so many WAN applications in the past, Riverbed can help with application acceleration to services such as Office 365 (Sharepoint, OneDrive, Office and Outlook), Salesforce, ServiceNow, Box and Veeva. Riverbed SaaS Accelerator is a fully managed offering supporting both secure mobile clients and enterprise WAN opt infrastructure. Riverbed can continue to provide data reduction, application optimization, lower bandwidth consumption, and faster performance that can translate into improved end user productivity and experience for Saas users.

The focus of the first 2020 Riverbed User Group will be to review the SaaS Accelerator technology and describe the multiple potential solutions available to the Government of Canada using Client Accelerator (formerly known as SteelHead Mobile), SaaS Accelerator and a SteelHead infrastructure both within the enterprise and cloud.

We’ll have a short update from Riverbed & TIG, followed up by a panel discussion with our team, and we will invite users to take the floor to share best practices.

Speakers:
Blanco Lam, Deputy CTO - Present Technology Roadmap
Eddie Mak, Solutions Engineer - Present Implementation Options
Bob Hall, Cloud Architect - TIG
Nenad Nedeljkovic, Solutions Architect - TIG

"When Your Hybrid Cloud Network is Secondary to Your Cloud First Strategy” Virtual Whitepaper Meetup

Author: Event Admin

Date of Event: Tuesday, May 12th
Time: 1:00 PM EST

TIG's Paul Cooper is hosting a "virtual Meetup" - live panel discussion in coordination with Insight as a Service and contributors (Joe Belinsky, Paul Brugen and Nabeel Yousif ) to the upcoming Whitepaper also being released. You are invited – encouraged, even – to join the session!

Last month, 14 Canadian and US-based thought leaders came together in three Best Practice review calls to contribute to a new report – also entitled When Your Hybrid Cloud Network is Secondary to Your Cloud-First Strategy – that provides unique, valuable guidance to IT and network management professionals who are grapping with ever-expanding demands, options and requirements – issues that have accelerated, tremendously, as organizations of all types become even more network-dependent in response to the Pandemic.

The Virtual Meetup will explore key findings from the report: investment drivers that connect hybrid cloud objectives, hybrid cloud network objectives and business outcomes; key considerations in hybrid cloud network rollouts; six “best practice vectors” that organizations can use to optimize hybrid cloud network benefits; and a set of metrics that network, IT and C-suite executives can use to align hybrid cloud network performance with IT service delivery and organizational business objectives.

The When Your Hybrid Cloud Network is Secondary to Your Cloud-First Strategy is scheduled for May 12th, 1:00-2:00 (EST). The agenda includes:

  • 1:00-1:05 Welcome and introduction
  • 1:05-1:20 Spotlight presentation - expert perspective on hybrid cloud networks provided by Paul Cooper (Technology Integration Group)
  • 1:20-1:50 Panel discussion on the hybrid cloud network: defining the core of IT service delivery: panelists will include Nabeel Yousif (CISO, goeasy Ltd.), Joe Belinsky (former VP, Technical Services at Moneris) and Paul Brugan (Technical Channel Manager, Riverbed Technology) – all of whom were key contributors to the research report
  • 1:50-2:00 Q&A (note - questions may be included in the panel discussion at any time)

All webinar registrants will be sent a complementary copy of the 26-page When Your Hybrid Cloud Network is Secondary to Your Cloud-First Strategy report prior to the webinar, and will be encouraged to contribute questions which can be added to the discussion as it evolves.
